So this is it my very first blog post. I am thrilled to be part of the Quill KAL, that starts in the upcoming weeks (with my pace will last months;) )I placed my order from some yarn from th Plucky Knitter on 5/22 and will be waiting for it to arrive. The yarn is for the center square of my project which leaves me with the difficult decision of what to use for the border...Decisions!decisions! decisions! what's a girl to do? This girl has decided to request some help. Would you please let me know what your favorites are?
congrats on your first post, Steph ~ good job!
ReplyDeletewhat color is your center square going to be?
I love all those color combos but wonder what the mystery color is :)
Hi Steph,
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful yarns there.
If it helps, Jared's Quill starts with a dark color then each cotrast color gets lighter. Will wait to see your center choice.
Kelli
Kelli, since I am a sucker for greys.. I went with a medium light shade of grey called"Fisherman's Wharf" I don't have a picture of the shade, but it is the color that the sample Veera Välimäki knit "Quay"
ReplyDeleteSo Kelli have you finished the pattern yet;)?
My test knit piece for Jared was sent off last week. He needed it by the 14th, when he was going to photo shoot his fall collection, I believe.
DeleteIt was all so exciting. I don't know if I'll ever delete the emails I recieved from him...I was paid well and my yarn I'm useing for Quill is from my works. Don't worry, if a picture is published I'll let you know. I also hinted to him that Churchmouse would be the perfect place to showcase the piece! Then I could visit it. I do have yarn to knit me one, but not sure when I'll start...it's hard for me to knit back to back projects.
I to like the greys~
goofy girl ~ you're still in Jared la-la-land
DeleteI think Steph was trying to tease Miss Lightening needles about THIS knitalong & asking if you'd already finished even though the cast on date is Friday
fess up ~ did you start already?
Ooops, no I'm sitting here with a severe allergy attack, with a whole roll of toilet paper. No knitting. My day was filled with filling moving boxes. Quill will wait..
DeleteSorry Steph, must be the Sudafed?
I LOVE photo number 1. The colors are all so delicate but distinct and really seem to balance each other!
DeleteThanks, I like all of them so your opinion really helps!
DeleteFeel better Kelli!
ReplyDeleteI am hopeful that I can finish this relatively quickly(2-3 ) months. I think I will be cheering you Melissa an Andee on the next knit a long by the time I get this sucker done... I love people's comments on how long this project takes to complete.
I think I decided I like the bottom photo the best ~ it's a tough decision, though
DeleteI'm with Mel on this, I think picture 4 , those colors will blend perfect.
DeleteThe last one is my favorite. The rasberry pinks are so pretty. Oh boy.....have a feeling i will end up doing this. How can i resist????
ReplyDeleteyou musn't resist! join us :)
Deletethen you can tell us about that Jared Flood job when you get it :)))
I vote for color combo #1. Think it would look really pretty with a grey center square.
ReplyDeleteWow the voting is close..
