LYS Tour Happening Now!!! ~post from Kelli

Good ol' Clive,  he's on the 2014 Local Yarn Shop Tour!
Happening this weekend, throughout the Puget Sound area.

I have good memories of traveling around some of the shops with you Melissa~ We would meet up, get coffee, bring our latest 'knits' finished or not, to show each other.  You'd have perfect directions, all printed out, in hand, and drive us around from shop to shop,  when we'd get to a yarn shop, you'd claim I was running to get inside the shops first~ would I do a thing like that?!  What fun!  Hopefully life will slow down and we can catch up to do it again.

  1. I seem to remember you falling down one time rushing to get past me to get there first :)

I wouldn't have said anything but since you brought it up....hehe!

I emailed Trudy last night and told her that when this foot drama is completely resolved, I have a yarn buying binge coming so we'll have to plan a big day ~ how does that sound?

(what yarn is your shop featuring?)

  2. ...if I did stumble, it was cause you'd tripped me,

Our shop yarn is the gorgeous Rylie! 50% Alpaca, 25% Linen, 25% Wool, my Bell Bottoms Girl is knitted with it.

Hoping Jason's foot is healed soon, a big day would be great.

    2. yeah it's been too long, I miss your sarcasm so much (she says sarcastically)~ I see all the 'friends coming through and I get lonely for our group. I'm so itching to go LYS'ing, I might have to go tomorrow.

  3. Boy, does a big day sound fun... Foot healed sounds even better. Some year the yarn tour sounds like a fun time too. Not the same with Sam, good but not the same. Hope you get lots of ladies in the shop Kelli and buying lots.

    1. Yes, healed foot first, I'd settle for that!

I miss you, would be fun to yarn tour~

The shop is selling lots, and I'm having a blast. Tonight when I signed off/out of work, I stuck around for another hour, just enjoying the knitters.

    2. I'm thinking maybe a GISC blog anniversary knitalong end of July? something lace ~ smaller & not so hard ~ maybe a crescent shawl ~ something a little easier than our huge new year kal's? I have a few queued ~ I could figure out how to do a poll and have people vote or some such thing...

that would give me time to finish my sweater and anniversary shawl and socks ~ maybe my Spire, too, maybe....

      what do you think?

    3. I think it's great! let me know what shawls your thinking...a poll would be fun. Can't wait!

  4. actually ~ now that I think about it, that skeleton looks vaguely like the guy you knocked to the ground in Anacortes that one time...I just realized you left him lying there and the bones are all that's left of him...

    1. ...and since he's only dressed in his skivvies he must have had a darn nice wool something-or-other on that you wanted to steal to repurpose the yarn ~ you stole his clothes off of him, didn't you??

    2. you are so funny~ is that how to spell skivvies? Clive would give you the wool sweater off his back~

  5. I would love to go cause havoc with the rest of the group in all the LYS! But I'll be over my head with alpaca fleeces! We have 30 alpacas to shear. No yarn buying for me for a while!

    1. I would skip the tour anyday for a skein of Arrow Acres Alpaca ~ any one of their fiber would be a dream :)

they are sooooo fat and furry looking right now, especially that pregnant bunch of ladies!

    2. I have some fiber set aside with your name on it. When I get around to spinning it it will be in the mail for you. But don't hold your breath. It has had your name on it for a while :)

    3. oh, my goodness, Andi ~ even if I'm 50 when you send it I'll be so happy (that gives you about 2 years to spin it up...how's that??)

seriously ~ if that gem ever shows up in my mailbox, I will consider myself utterly proud and delighted :)

  6. Knit along? Did someone say knit-along? I'm getting along with Spire but could use a new diversion, too. I missed the LYS tour myself sitting in Virginia Mason Seattle hospital with Harold. Oh, these men and their maladies. (We love them anyway, right?). Here's to the end of hospitals and health issues!

    1. yes, someone did say it! details to come ~ nothing hard ~ more about just plain having a good time together rather than tackling a challenge

amen to the rest of it ~ the men, loving them despite their maladies, no more hospitals, bye bye health issues, all of it...ditto

      see you around, Ratchet :)
