the past few months...chaotic
to-do lists...not getting done
not enough stolen moments to take time to pause, breath deeply and smile
til now...
this makes me smile
I finally finished f o l k • a r t !!!
it's big and warm and a blanket built for two :)
it could have been larger (note to self : invest in one more box of blocking mats)
but as it is it measures 63 x 63"
perfect for cuddling with a loved one :)
I think I may be addicted to the knitted on edge
they go more quickly & are more enjoyable each time I work one
and brrrr....
it's finished just in time for some icy cold evenings & snuggling ~ hehe
is it okay that I love Jared Flood as well as my husband?
have a great weekend everybody :)
~ Melissa

I called my sister to tell her I got an email from Jared. I was screaming in excitement and my husband came in the room from downstairs and asked if Jared was a guy. I said yes and I am in love with him. I told him he needed to understand :) Your Quill is beautiful!!! I am so glad you finished it and can enjoy it just in time for some chilly weather. Congrats and I hope you get lots of good use out of it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder sometimes if he knows just how giddy many of us are over him :)
Deletemy husband knows about Jared ~ he's ok with it...hehe!
So lovely! I am almost a monogamous BT knitter at this point.

Great blanket and beautiful work. May I ask where you got the pattern from and if it's available for purchase?
ReplyDeleteHi, Calvin ~ sorry I didn't provide links in my post (I usually do!) ~ I'll go back and add them but for now, the pattern is a Jared Flood shawl pattern that I modified ~ it can be purchased on his website or through Ravelry
Deletehere's the link to his site's pattern page or you can click directly from links in my post in a few minutes after I go back and add them :) (thanks for the nice note & taking the time to comment!)

DeleteYour Quill is quite an accomplishment, and I love the many ways you displayed it. We are just missing a photo shoot with you and Jason -- snuggled up. Maybe the next football game? I'm happy for you that it is finished. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll work on the photo with Jas, promise :)
DeleteI'm happy it's finished too, Penny!
Absolutely beautiful and such a perfect time of year to be finishing a throw! I went to your project page (I'm impressed with such organized project pages, mine are all just glorified place holders ) and when I saw this in your notes, I just got to thinking how cool you must be!
ReplyDelete"…the one in which I lose my mind and decide bigger really is better…"
Happy Knitting!
thanks for stopping by elns (and checking out my rav page ~ it gets more organized over time ~ after awhile you learn to answer the questions you get asked before people ask them about project info ~ I mostly do it to save myself some time since I'm not super speedy at returning notes!)
Deletehappy knitting to you as well :)
