BEAST KNIT MODE~ from Kelli

Happy new year everyone!  So happy to see all you!  Love this time of year, so glad we're all together creating lace!
My husband asked his yearly question as he went to bed after midnight "are you staying up all night to knit?"  ~ well not ALL night...

I'm using Spinning Wool 1, Isager, lace weight, doubled, in pink,US5

  1. Hey, did you do the 10 rows of garter stitch between the bottom edging and when you started the center chart? I did and it looks different than yours. If you didn't, your side edging isn't going to be on the right row when you finish and are ready to do the top edging. You'll have to fudge at the end (there's also 10 rows of garter on the other end between your last center chart row and when you start the top edging...better take a peek??)

  2. Thanks. I did knit right passed all that, dang it! I'm starting over. I really like the ten rows. Thanks for noticing.

    1. Glad I said something. It wouldn't matter if edging and charts were = rows but they're not so they've got it figured out where each will end correctly at the same time for the last section. Deep breath : ) .... carry on!

  3. I started on the suggested size 5 needles, got to the end of the border and didn't like my fabric. I ripped and started over on size 6's after I explored what other people had used when they knit lace with the yarn I'm using. 6's were an overwhelming majority. I'm just starting the center pattern (after the 10 garter rows). Not so sure of how well I like the garter ground/ reversible aspect, but I'm in until the end.

    1. I know what you mean about the garter but I think blocking really will be the key for this piece. I'm a gonna block her hard!

  4. I'm using Brooklyn Tweed LOFT in color Faded Quilt with size 5 needles. All seems to be going well, except my corners aren't sharp, they're kind of rounded. Is this normal? Will blocking fix that?

    1. I'm using Loft as well. Blocking cures most things....give the corner a slight tug and you can see it will block to a nice point :)
