Chart "C" Complete!!! ~guest blogger Andee

Woo Hoo I finished up Chart "C" last night!

Humm lets see how many pictures I can post of an unfinished project :)

It is so hard to photograph all bunched up on those needles!

This is the fiber I have left. I need to spin it up for the edging. Hummmmm
I think I am going to card it to blend the color until it is pretty uniform. I am not sure how much waste I'll get from carding it. So I am also thinking about ordering more solid color fiber. I don't want to run short on yarn.

This is where it will sit until I decide what to do.  I'm going to think about it a little more.

The color of the fiber is "More Coffee". I have an imaginary date planned with Jared Flood where he will come over to my parents alpaca farm and we will sit and chat and have coffee. Maybe we can turn it into a retreat. Anyone want to come visit the farm? Please note that if you do decided to attend the retreat you might have to kidnap Mr. Flood and bring him with you :) I think it would be a good time.

  1. I would love to come for a visit. I think I'm up for a little kidnapping, especially if it's Jared Flood.
    Your knitting is beautiful Andee!

  2. It's looking fabulous. I finished my Chart C last week and I'm just barely beginning the edging. It is such a piece of cake after the intensity of the rounds. I can't wait to see them both completed. Happy knitting. I'll bring cookies when Jared visits!

  3. Beautiful! I just spent the weekend at a retreat on a black angus ranch, though alpaca farm sounds nice too!

  4. Getting closer...exciting goings on there~ way to go! I can't imagine needing to spin more yarn to finish, you're amazing Andee. I will be at your imaginary date, I'll be there knitting lace that's hand spun/dyed (by me) cashmere that's been dyed the perfect tea stain color since we're imagining!

  5. you already know that I'm there, Andee, since you and I have been secretly scheming to make this happen for a while :) ~ I'm all for coming to Jersey and hanging out at the farm and of course, we all know Jared would LOVE to hang out with the lot of us ~ we are his biggest fans, you know (I still think we should rename the blog Flood's Flock since most of our kal's revolve around him and Brooklyn Tweed ~ hehe!)

I'm excited you're on the border ~ are you still thinking of making it wearable with armholes?

    1. Yes I still have the slits in it for the armholes. Once I get it off the needles I'll make a decision if I am going to open it or not.

  7. Not to be a wet blanket, but your idea is doomed to failure. It never fails that when I kidnap my heroes for a weekend all they want to do is whine about their attorneys and be generally unappreciative of my adoration - even if the shawl is amazing. I just don't get it, but that's the way it is. ;-)
