Sherry (who, by the way, will be knitting along, too) has threatened a midnight phone call to see if I'm knitting on my Flood Flock project. I say, "Why not?" There is that "start-itis" thing, but also this is a little out of my comfort zone, project wise and color/ yarn wise. I've never knit anything in this light natural color, I've never knit a project holding 2 strands together, and I've never knit a gansey-style anything before. Therefore, Ludlow is a perfect way to start 2015. Life in general hands us new challenges and new opportunities. If my 1st project of 2015 is a metaphor, then a shake-up is on the horizon. I look forward to seeing all of the projects as they unfold.
Happy New Year to the whole flock. Only 7 1/2 hours 'til midnight!
well of course you can ~ if I lived closer I'd say lets all get together in our pj's and get started at midnight!
ReplyDeletethat would be a hoot!
Sherry...if you're reading this...will you PLEASE blog with us????
I told Sherry I may be over in my pj's around 7:00, but she informed me her coffee machine is broken. She would hate the early hour and I would hate the lack of caffeine!
Deleteps ~ hope you enjoy this 'out of your comfort zone journey' and here's to a healthier 2015, eh??
ReplyDeleteHere, here, Melissa! That goes both ways, friend.
DeleteI'll either get a second wind and go go go or fall asleep. But I'm really excited to cast on, that'll motivate me to keep my eyes open.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what Sherry's going to knit?
Sherry bought Blackstone Tweed today at WF and she's knitting "Ludlow" also. We tried to twist Denise's arm but she's passing this time around.
DeleteThe yarn is a charcoal color. It will be awesome.
DeleteHi all - I found my way here from Karen's blog (pumpkinsunrise). Thanks to Melissa for a warm welcome too. We are just under 2.5 hours to the new year and I have been watching wr his evening. I think I need to spend some time reading the pattern, Ashby. It feels complicated to me and will likely stretch my knitting skills which is a very good thing. Back tomorrow with pictures and a blog post.
ReplyDeleteyou'll have lots of help if needed, Juliann ~ you're one of quite a few that chose that pattern so make sure to pop on for support if needed (and share any brainstorms or lightbulb moments you have as well!)
Deletecountdown to midnight ~ unlike the gals in Anacortes, my head will be on the pillow by then and my knitting will wait til the morning!
I finally got my pattern printed out and found my yarn, Stonecrop in Malibrigo Terra Cotta. Now to learn a new cast on. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think? Enjoying Ludlow? It's not hard but you do need to stay focused on your K & P's. I've had to go back a couple times but nothing like lace. I've looked at it and thought wow it's so so so solid? No yo's.
Hi Kelli,
DeleteI am enjoying the pattern and the yarn. The pattern is simple, but I agree, you have to keep your eyes on what you're doing. The pattern is a little difficult to see close up, too. You look at arm's-length and it's easy to make out. I finished the Diamonds 1 pattern before I put it away yesterday. It goes fast on the big needles. Smiles all around.
love love love your yarn!!!
ReplyDeleteI do, too. It was a bit of a splurge but I'm so happy that I went for it.
