Stonecrop Shawl ~ guest blogger Karen
Good morning! I'm thrilled to be here and participating in the knitalong this year. My name is Karen and I blog at pumpkin sunrise. Right when Melissa posted the choices, I fell in love with the Stonecrop shawl. Garter stitch with lace sounds decadent and a wonderful way to herald in a new year.
I chose this yarn from my stash that has been patiently waiting for the perfect project. Hopefully, I have enough yardage or I can creatively fudge the pattern. If not, I will switch out the yarn and substitute something else from my stash.
I have romantic visions of wearing this shawl to my daughter's wedding in the summer, assuming the dress I buy compliments the shawl. I think only knitters would chose the shawl then the dress!!
Looking forward to seeing everyone else's choices in the coming days :)
edited by Melissa to do a little housekeeping : if you're new to the blog and don't know about our knitalong here's a link ~ jump in if you'd like ~ there's still time!

Of course we must always pick yarn before our garments. Is there any other way :) Looking forward to seeing your Stonecrop.

ReplyDeleteVery nice! I love cashmere, and since I buy the yarn before I ever choose the pattern, your idea of knitting the shawl before finding the dress makes perfect sense! LOL, welcome to our KAL!
ReplyDeleteI always buy the yarn before the pattern! makes life more spicy.
