these will go to mom tomorrow...thank you Annette, Penny, Trudy, Bonnie, and Kelli for your time and thoughtfulness
and thanks to everyone whose hats haven't arrived yet or are still in the works (that means you Will, Kelly, Mom, Mimi, Andrea, Chris and Elaine...and anyone who is knitting the boy a hat and hasn't told me...may good karma come back to you twofold!)
the second batch will go to Alex in a week or two
I'll keep you all posted if I hear anything about how he is doing ~ I imagine tomorrow he will be so surprised and excited by all his new headgear
thank you so much, everybody ~ I owe you one
~ Melissa
The alpacas of Arrow Acres Farm have generously donated some of their fleeces for a hat :) Now I just have to finish it up and it will be in the mail.
ReplyDeletethis just made me cry, Andee ~ give your family a hug (watch Fast Freddie's shoulder...not too hard!)
Deletethanks so much!!!!!!
That's way cool, Andee. Look forward to seeing the hat. Love the row of hats, Melissa. You make the most humble of projects look classy.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had had some daylight for a photo, Penny ~ this leaving for work in the dark and coming home in the dark is really cramping my style ~ heh :)
DeleteAnd how about this fog? We have more in the forecast -- what a drag. Maybe you are being spared where you live. Hey, bright side, we will see the sun again and days are getting longer. There's hope in the future. :)
DeleteI like fog...alot :) ~ we can hear the ferry from our house on foggy days blowing it's horn and I love that low, echoing warning sound very much
Deletea friend of yours is a friend of mine. i'm so happy you're letting me contribute. xoxo mimi
ReplyDeletethank you, Mimi...I'm wondering how long it will take your husband to notice I messaged him on Ravelry about the hat :)
DeleteOn these long, dark winter nights, what warmth and light comes to read words to~ & fro~ of well-wishes and thanksgivings. What a grand bunch~
ReplyDeletecompletely agree ~ this is the grandest of bunches and I'm glad they've all bunched together with us!!
DeleteWhat Kelli and Penny said.............My hat is ready and waiting, Melissa.
ReplyDeletethanks so much, Andrea ~ I'll make a plan once I know if there are any other hats up that way that need delivering!
DeleteElaine is working on hers and I don't know about Chris. She's taking a fair isle workshop this Sat. and that hat may be for Alex.
Deletethanks for the update, Andrea
DeleteHeart warming, so many good people.
ReplyDeleteyourself included, Trudy ~ thank you :)
DeleteI sent my package out today! It should arrive Friday, or by Monday for sure ;)
ReplyDeletethanks Kelly (& Lil Miss!) ~ momma didn't come for the first batch today as she ended up at the doctors with one of Alex's siblings....
Deletewhen it rains it pours (or maybe 'monsoons' is a better word for this family ~ I feel so badly for them)
