You see, life's been kinda hectic. Why does it always seem hectic? Oh, that's right. I decided to knit lace blankets for my family Christmas gifts!
Since I don't have a pretty photo of the yarn and pattern to show you, I'm gonna offer up a couple pictures of the Girasole I finished earlier this year.
I'm still plodding through the border of my second Leaves of Grass (remember that?), and am almost there! When I finish it, I will be done with Christmas 2014, haha!
So, yes, simple knitting at a large gauge is good. I tend to do more complicated projects all the time, and I'm hoping that working on "mere knits and purls" will be a good exercise in simplicity. Can you tell I need it?
While I may not be the most talkative fellow in the group, know that I'll be feeding off your beautiful writing and pictures, and knitting myself to sanity.
Happy New Year!
hello old friend! good to have you back in our space, even if you've chosen to just 'knit and purl' this time around ;P

ReplyDeleteI too am in the, why is life so hectic? place... Ludlow is a simpler knit, with a calming affects I think you'll like.
I was so close to ordering Loft tent, but I found 'stash' that I needed to use.
I'm excited to see your progress.
Who are or did you gift this Girasole too? It is beautiful.
Nice to have you here.
The Girasole went to my older sister. The Leaves of Grass I completed TODAY is going to my younger sister. (I totally wrapped it up and gave it to her with t b e needle still in it!)

DeleteHi WillyG, nice to be knitting with you. I, too, am enjoying the calm patterning of Ludlow. You'll be in a good place for a while as you knit on this. Happy New Year. Your Girasole is stunning.
ReplyDeleteGo Team Ludlow!
Delete'Team Ludlow' - I like it!
Deletemaybe my team could be the 'Girasole Girls' although that makes us sound geriatric :)
I love the Girasole, Will. It's one of the prettiest I've seen. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Penny. That's very kind of you. I'll blame it on the lovely park where I like to shoot my photos. The log was actually really helpful, as the blanket didn't like laying flat.
Deletegorgeous!! I might have to knit that one day :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a good one. Though my favorite is Leaves of Grass. Both are very satisfying knits.
