What a great way to start the New Year! My favorite people are knitting with us and the sun is shining. A fresh start to the new calendar and I have high hopes for a much better go of it this time 'round.
I've completed Chart A on my Girasole! So deceiving...it's a whopping 10 rounds but it's enough to imagine what the rest of my blanket will look like when I'm finished. What do you think?
I chose the Peace Fleece 'lily pad' colorway in hopes that it would compliment the Shelter 'sap' colorway in the Quill blanket I knit for my husband. So similar! Now we'll have coordinating throws to snuggle under! ( blogged here / ravelry notes here )
I love the two together :)
I've already enjoyed a few chuckles this morning reading your beginning posts and I'm looking forward to more laughter as the days go by!
Happy New Year and happy knitting!
(ps ~ everyone remember to tag your Ravelry project page with 2015floodsflock ~ thanks so much!!)
Melissa
I love, love, love it! Can't wait to see more, especially with your gorgeous Quill.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually under the quill while I'm knitting my Girasole ~ I think Jason will be happy for me to have my own blanket so I stop stealing his :)
DeleteHow cold does it get in the winter where you are? Just curious, we were in the negatives this week...
DeleteI don't remember it going below zero here...below freezing is cold enough for me ~ it's been dropping just a bit below freezing overnight and getting up to about 40 during the day
Deletewe keep our heat a little on the low side so I'm always cold ~ good thing I know how to knit, eh??
That sounds like the perfect winter weather. If only! When it gets into the negative double digits, I dream about moving to Portland.
DeleteI dream about you moving to Portland as well :)
DeleteI love how that is coming together already!
ReplyDeletethanks, Liesl ~ happy new year!
DeleteGreat color, Melissa! I look forward to watching progress. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteit's slow going the first few days ~ we're up to 18 (!) knitters and there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff going on getting people up and running for blogging
Deletehopefully I'll get a little more done tomorrow!
I like your worsted idea. I want to try blanketing one of these knits someday. Way to start the year.
ReplyDeleteI've been under Jason's Quill for weeks ~ we could use a whole giant basketful of handmade throws...
DeleteI'm working on it!
love that you finished a chart :) Looking good, I think a wee tiny mouse could snuggle under it and that is progress!
ReplyDeleteI've finished 2 charts now so I might be able to cover a whole guinea pig :)
DeleteLOL, this is hilarious. You'll be up to a kitty cat before you know it.
Deletenow if I covered a kitty cat with it I'd break out in hives so we'll have to find some other critter when that time comes :)
Deletemaybe an armadillo? I can't imagine that I'm allergic to those...
It's already gorgeous! And being knit out of Peace Fleece, one of my favorite yarns. I'm really excited to see your progress.
ReplyDeleteone of my faves as well, Julie ~ I was excited to see that Tolt carries a HUGE selection of their colorways!!
