First Week of Stonecrop ~ guest blogger Karen

I have been diligently knitting away on this gorgeous pattern.  I'm having trouble seeing the dark blue yarn and only knit by day.  Since I've completed the main chart section once, I'm feeling more comfortable with the pattern and the charts.

I dread if I drop a stitch.....So far I've been lucky and I hope I haven't jinxed myself!

  1. This is beautiful! If you're new to lace knitting, just remember that life-lines are your friend! You can place one about every ten lines of knitting, and then if something goes terribly wrong, you don't lose much of your work, and you know which line you're on. Also, from experience I've learned that Jared Flood and the BT team like to work 'markers' into the patterns, so that you can find any mistakes more easily. I like to check often that the pattern is lining up as it should, because even experienced lace knitters lose their place sometimes!

    1. heh heh ~ Karen? new to lace knitting? that's funny :)

I agree about the BT charts ~ they make it massively easy to establish landmarks

  2. Karen, I love your Stonecrop in blue, it's beautiful! I have no fear that you will mess up, you've got this! I am just beginning the main chart, now that we are back to a normal schedule I do not have as much time to knit as I would like and by the time it dark I'm too tired to knit from a chart.

  3. This is looking great, Karen. I knit a lace shawl a while ago in black and I sat with a white pillowcase on my lap while I knit on it to help see the dark color. It really helped and may help you.
