  2. Mel, did you alter anything? It looks smaller in overall size than I anticipated...maybe the model in the book is just teeny.

Pamela ~ they give 2 different sizes in the book and I made the smaller (lace weight version) ~ I think I used the recommended needle size for the lace weight instead of going up like I usually do since this had nupps and I really like mine TIGHT, but I am a tight knitter so maybe it's a little smaller than it's supposed to be?

    also, maybe the model is wearing the fingering weight version?

  4. Oh, Melissa! It's so beautiful! That color is unbelievably pretty. I too was surprised that it looked a little smaller than I anticipated, but some years ago I did a Mystery Shawl-along that turned out to be just barely scarf sized due to my yarn and needle choice. It's actually turned out to be one of my favorite accent pieces! I agree, it's a future ribbon winner!

  6. My first shawl turned out tiny and perfect. It's my go-to item when it's chilly out, and one of the few things I've kept for myself.
